As a quick workaround for other cygwin users: make sure your lame build directory is on a binary mount. ---snip--- So as a workaround, you need to do this "binary mount" thing (whatever this is). The real solution is to have a look at the most recent development version of lame. I've updated autoconf to 2.62 and regenerated the corresponding LAME stuff the last WE. So theoretically this problem should be fixed, but someone with cygwin needs to confirm.
