Sorry if the following will be a dupliacte. I posted via gmane to a rather old thread and do see it appear in the archives at sourceforge. Anyway, here it is: From: Michael <lemkemch <at> t-online.de> Subject: Re: en error message in conf Newsgroups: gmane.comp.audio.mp3.lame Date: 2008-08-10 21:39:00 GMT (23 hours and 1 minute ago) Alexander Leidinger <Alexander <at> Leidinger.net> writes: >Quoting "Gosha Osipov" <gaosipov <at> gmail.com> (Tue, 20 Nov 2007 > 18:38:24 +0300): >> I've got an error message, after running ./configure in Cygwin. > >> Message: > > checking for uint64_t... yes > > checking for int64_t... yes > > configure: error: CHECK_TYPE_uint32_t - please report to lame-dev <at> > lists.sourcefo > > rge.net > >> Generated by this source code: > > ---------------------- > > if test "${ac_cv_sizeof_unsigned_long}" = "4"; then > > cat >>confdefs.h <<\_ACEOF > > #define A_UINT32_T unsigned long > > _ACEOF > >> else > > { { echo "$as_me:$LINENO: error: CHECK_TYPE_uint32_t - please > > report to lame-dev <at> lists.sourceforge.net" >&5 > > echo "$as_me: error: CHECK_TYPE_uint32_t - please report to > > lame-dev <at> lists.sourceforge.net" >&2;} > > { (exit 1); exit 1; }; } > > fi > > ----------------------- > > sizeof(unsigned long) seemed to be 8, and it don't contradict Standard >But 8 is too much for a 32bit integer type. Please send me the > configure output regarding the "checking size of " lines. For a solution see here: http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-08/msg00308.html and especially http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-08/msg00312.html http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=autoconf.git;a=commitdiff;h=78dc34 Could I ask the maintainers to upgrade their autoconf to at least 2.62 to make this go away? As a quick workaround for other cygwin users: make sure your lame build directory is on a binary mount. Michael |
