LaTeX Helper / News: Recent posts

After a long hiatus, LaHelper is being redone from scratch using PyGTK. I have gone too long without this handy tool that I wrote for my own use. I hope that basing the code on Python + Glade will make it easier to maintain and less likely to become obsolete due to continuing development of GUI libraries.

This LaTeX Helper has been updated with an improved user's manual, a LaTeX tutorial, and user interface enhancements.

LaHelper is a GNOME document preparation GUI for LaTeX. It now has a mini-print preview window for the example text and CVS menu items. The CVS menu items allow the user to manage their document using CVS. LaHelper works with any text editor.

LaHelper is a GNOME LaTeX assistant. It has menus for the LaTeX commands as well as instant help with each menu item. A rough draft of the user's manual is included with this release. A new document can be started using the File...New... menu. LaHelper gives you a jump start by copying a document template and setting up an automated translation to PDF. This LaTeX helper now has a functional toolbar that can launch a text editor, drawing editor, image editor, DVI viewer, PS viewer, and PDF viewer for the current project. The Make button will build the printable version of the document by executing the make command in the terminal widget.

Panels of buttons for greek symbols, binary operators, relations, and arrows have been added to this LaTeX assistant. http://lahelper.sourceforge.net
