Thanks Michael. I tried using both our addons in 3.01 and at least one of them keeps Krang from appearing properly. I know that one of our addons includes a skin which is not compatable, however, even I set the krang.conf skin setting to Default the UI still doesn't appear properly. So I might have to forgo that addon altogether. Which becomes an issue with our BulkMail addon. It seems to depend on some stuff from the UFT addon. Bottom line is need to extrapolate the files that BulkMail is looking for from the UFT addon and roll them up into a new version of the BulkMail. Then I can test it in 3.01. So in 3.02 these types of preferences will be available? Any word on when 3.02 will be avail? Mark T. Do you want to do it the easy way (quick and dirty) or the hard way (more maintainable across Krang upgrades)? The quick and dirty approach is to open $KRANG_ROOT/lib/Krang/CGI/Story.pm and look in the find() method where HTMLPager is being used. Then set the default_sort_order_desc parameter to 1. Then restart Krang. The hard way is actually much harder. It involves changing your addon to override Krang::CGI::Story's find() method. But since the method is pretty monolithic it would basically be copying it into your new module and then changing it like I showed above. In fact, since there's no easy way to override just this little bit in your addon, your addon is quite brittle and may break with future Krang upgrades. So it maybe not be all that much "better". I've wanted for some time to add a preference option where you could decide if you wanted to sort descendingly by id by default for all searches. Shouldn't really be to hard to add to Krang itself. So maybe you can do the quick and dirty approach for now and if you ever upgrade to 3.02 it will be there for your users to choose for themselves. -- Michael Peters Developer Plus Three, LP ******************************************************************************* The views, opinions, and judgments expressed in this message are solely those of the author.
