The first thing I do when I get KildClient is comment out the following block in parser.c before compiling:
/* Skip spaces */
/* while (start < totallen) {
if (isspace(cmdline[start])) {
start++;
} else {
break;
}
} */
This is because many servers that I work on depend on one being able to send a blank space or a single space for things like line editors in order to indicate a 'blank line.' Most servers do proper stripping for you if needed (in fact, I don't know any that do not do this), so I'm not really sure what use this feature is in the first place. However, I imagine there is a reason for it, so I ask that it must be there, it be a togglible option.
I really do love this client. This was the only thing that kept me from using it as my primary client for a long time until I stumbled upon that code block when compiling from source.
Thank you.
I can't remember of a real reason why I put that there. Probably only for convenience (especially when typing several commands in a line), but as you say, that's not really necessary. I'll remove it for the next version, unless I can find a place where it actually is necessary.
