Dear Sir, I really need someone's help. I have questions regarding the VRRP spec. If you think I am sending this email to a wrong place, Please where should I ask this question. Inside http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2338.html >>>5.3.9 IP Address(es) One or more IP addresses that are associated with the virtual router. The number of addresses included is specified in the "Count IP Addrs" field. These fields are used for troubleshooting misconfigured routers. What does it mean for the "misconfigured routers"? Also I have a connection question: when1/when2, whoe1/whoe2 are gateways with VRRP protocol, in normal connection, the path are connected like following:. when1--+----whoe2 | when2--+----whoe2 Can I use 2 independent path to share one (or more) virtual IP address? Please refer to the following diagram: when1-------whoe1 when2-------whoe2 The above diagram uses 2 independent path to share one (or more) virtual IP address, I think it is wrong, It should be one single data path instead of 2 independent path. If I am wrong please correct me. Thanks in advance. Any help will be much appreciated. Clifford |
