Not LIRC actually. Its a remote with a module in the kernel that makes it work like an actual keyboard and mouse. I mapped the keys with .xmod_map to the default keyboard shortcuts in kaffeine, but there is no vol_up and vol_down. Just looked in kdcop and found 'void volDown()' and 'void volUP()' under 'KaffeineIface', but that means I now need to go back to xmodmap, then I need to go to khotkeys and assign the keyboard shortcuts I set in xmodmap to set the dcop settings. I appreciate the suggestion, but it would be really great if there was an option for volume up and down in kaffeine's keyboard shortcuts.
