I don't understand how the idea of specializing a search based on "UI artifact" can work in all cases? What if we change the UI to re-implement the same element as something other than select box? What if the change was indexed through an input source that doesn't have an UI, for example, web services? /Jong >>> "Roy Klein" <rk...@no...> 6/2/2009 12:45 PM >>> Right, it is a resulting Lucene query that is being produced here. This is saying that if there are more than one filterTerm clauses, then OR them. I think the problem is more likely in the filterTerm handling itself. Specifically, if you look at: <filterTerm filterType="entry" filterElementValueType="selectbox" filterEntryDefId="ff808082201f8cf001202ded45e00ac4" filterElementName="helpdeskCategory"> This term should result in a query looking for "entries" with the definition id of "ff808082201f8cf001202ded45e00ac4" AND with a customAttribute named "helpdeskCategory" that is selected. To me, this seems to request that any entry with the specified entry definition and the specified element name AND with the specified value be returned. Yet this filter will yield EVERY entry with an element named "helpdeskCategory". Changing the enclosing filterTerms, filterTermsAnd equal to "true" yields only entries meeting the criteria we would have originally expected. The question is why would this be the case when there is only one filterTerm enclosed so the OR or AND of the terms should not matter? At any rate, I believe that this filter should produce the desired result as it stands and I'm suspecting there's a problem in the conversion to a hibernate query. Right, it is a resulting Lucene query that is being produced here. Tom's original idea was to special case the filter for select boxes. Tom, did that work? As I was looking this over I noticed the attribute filterElementValueType="selectbox" in the filterTerm node. What are the class of values that get assigned to this attribute? It struck me as odd that a "selectbox" was being passed to the search index service. Brent Peter Hurley wrote: > You said "hibernate query". Hi all, I just posted a TODO list on kablink.org and thought I would blast it out to the list. The TODO list contains some great projects that are simple and that will help the project moving forward. If anyone is interested login to the site and navigate to http://community.kablink.org/teaming/kablink/todo and "Modify" the entry and select your name from the Assigned To: list. I'll be in contact afterward to help get you started and hook you with the right resource that can help. Thanks, Brent |

Hi all, Here are the custom call out jsps supported in Boulder... * The following line is used to call customer supplied customizations. * This callout can be used to add info to the hover-over text in the type-to-find search results * See /WEB-INF/jsp/custom_jsps/samples/ss_call_out_find_search_results.jsp for an example of how to do this <jsp:include page="/WEB-INF/jsp/custom_jsps/ss_call_out_find_search_results.jsp" /> This callout was added for the Swedish Police Department. They wanted to see more info when using the Find People search box. You can add a custom jsp to output more info such as the address of the person or their phone number. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <%-- Variables that can be overridden in the following callout --%><%-- --%><jsp:include page="/WEB-INF/jsp/custom_jsps/ss_call_out_head.jsp" /> It is possible to add JSTL variables or other info such as custom CSS styles and javascript in the <head> part of the page. This can be done using the above call out jsp. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <jsp:include page="/WEB-INF/jsp/custom_jsps/ss_call_out_servlet_head.jsp" /> There are a few items output as servlets. This call out allows you add CSS styles and javascript in the <head>. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The following line is used to call customer supplied customizations. * Jsp files added to the custom_jsps directory will not be overwritten during upgrades <jsp:include page="/WEB-INF/jsp/custom_jsps/ss_call_out_sidebar_top.jsp" /> This call out lets you add custom sections in the top of the sidebar. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The following line is used to call customer supplied customizations. * Jsp files added to the custom_jsps directory will not be overwritten during upgrades <jsp:include page="/WEB-INF/jsp/custom_jsps/ss_call_out_sidebar_middle.jsp" /> This call out lets you add custom sections in the middle of the sidebar. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The following line is used to call customer supplied customizations. * This jsp will be called at least once per page. * (It can be called more than once on portlet pages, so be prepared for that.) * This jsp is called before any other Teaming content is displayed. * However, it is not graranteed to be in the <head> section. * Jsp files added to the custom_jsps directory will not be overwritten during upgrades <jsp:include page="/WEB-INF/jsp/custom_jsps/ss_call_out_css_init.jsp" /> This call out is at the end of the <head> after all standard CSS files have been output. If you want to add CSS styles that override the default CSS in Teaming, put them in this call out. Thanks for the reply Peter. Isn't there some way to do this though? I have modified the entry definition for Tasks and added elements that I would like displayed in the folder listing. Is it possible to modify the folder definition and change the default view for that folder type? 1) would something like that work and 2) is there any way to persist something like that across an upgrade? Brent, I need to enter this as a defect for the installer. The installer needs to backup and restore all of the custom.jsp during an upgrade. But for now you can manually copy them from the backup and copy them to the new version. They should be in this directory /webapps/ssf/WEB-INF/jsp/custom_jsp/ -- Nathan |

I have an idea for an extension and wanted to run it by the list. I have been thinking about a simple extension that would have all the major extensible elements of Teaming in it, definitions, custom_jsp, and workflow callout. I have an idea and want to get some input and help, if possible. One thing I wind up doing is re-posting announcements to multiple places like kablink.org, community.kablink.org, and even Twitter. I'd like to create an extension that does some of this for me. A simple example that would showcase our flexibility would be an extension that contained an entry definition modification so that a user's profile contained a Twitter account and password field. A custom_jsp widget that provided a Password type textfield, and a workflow that contains a custom callout to publish an announcement to Twitter (in some way shortened of course). Any ideas, input or offers of help are greatly appreciated especially in the area of password storage. Brent McConnell |
