Gang: In an effort to get the word out, stimulate some gallery entries, and make our lives more complicated, we are kicking-off some new services you may find interesting: * We have created the K-3D store, where you can purchase K-3D themed premiums including T-shirts, mugs, and mousepads. I encourage you to checkout the link on the K-3D website, or go directly to http://www.cafeshops.com/shopk3d. To get the ball rolling we are using the K-3D logo and my "Sentinel Penguins" image. The service we're using offers over 50 different items that we can add logos and images to with no setup fees, so don't hesitate to ask me if you'd like, say, a K-3D lunch pail (if you want K-3D thong underwear, you're on your own). We will be making a small, 2$-to-5$ profit on the sales of each of these items, which leads us to: * We will be kicking-off a new policy on gallery entries. To make things interesting, we will be using the profits from the K-3D store to award a cash prize to the best gallery entry at the end of each month, rules as follows: I'm the judge, so I'm not eligible - everyone else is. Entries must be sent directly to me. Your entry must be created 100% with K-3D, no image processing, importing of geometry from other modelers, etc. and you must include the K-3D document with your entry, so I can verify this. Judging will take place on the first of each month, starting January 1st, 2004. At that time month-to-date profits (if any) from the K-3D store will be awarded to the winner, who will be judged based on whatever artistic, technical, or other merits happen to amuse me that day. I emphasize that we will be awarding the prize each month that we have at least one entry, so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by submitting an entry to the gallery. On the flip side of the coin, if you *do* have an entry, it is in your best interest to spread the word and get people buying K-3D merchandise. On you marks! Get set! Go! Tim |
