Hello Some time ago, I saw someone on this list having trouble compiling the CVS code on Debian. It is not necessary to switch to another distro to fix this. Here is what I did to compile it all on Woody: - Compile gcc 3.2.1 from source, using prefix /opt/gcc3 - add /opt/gcc3/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig - Compile the CVS version of libsigc++1.2, also with an /opt prefix if you wish (k3d wouldn't compile with the 1.0 debian package) - Set the CC and CXX environment variables to /opt/gcc3/bin/gcc and /opt/gcc3/bin/g++, respectively. - Proceed as normal to build k3d Using this method, you can always have the latest gcc to compile k-3d, without having to wait for debian to release it as a .deb. regards, -- Bart Janssens |
