Hi, after a long time of unsuccessfully trying to compile some cvs versions, I today found out that there are regular releases lately. I grabbed one of them and compiled it successfully. The program feels a lot better compared to my last successfull build and the opengl view is really faster even with complex objects. This was the good part of the story and I deeply want to thank all of you guys who are continuously improving k3d. But beside the good things there is something that looks strange for me. When I have an object selected in the 3D-View and select another one from the Node List and than rightclick and delete it, it deletes the object in the 3D-View. Thats quite irritating. I have to say that I never used another 3D-editor (except the leveleditor from Unreal Tournament) before so I don't know if thats the correct behavior. I also had another problem when I tried to model a mug. I wanted to add a handle to the mug so I extruded some faces of the mug and than I wanted to make a connection between those two bars (a image says more than a 100 words: http://tinypic.com/huj5t2.png ). If it would just be a polygon object I could extrude the faces that are selected on the image and wouldn't have any problems. But with subdivision it looks ugly even when you "overextrude" the faces so that the two extrusions stick into another so that it looks good in k3d (again a pictures might help: http://tinypic.com/huj5vt.png ) but during rendering one always sees that it is just a quick hack. So basicly the question is how can I connect two faces, so that it works with subdivision? I would appreciate your help. Cheers, Moritz PS: Another thing you for k3d 0.6 would be a k3d-users mailing list :D |
