In the last year I have been doing some more research on putting jython=20 together with an IDE and using web start to make the initial jython=20 experience a one-click scenario. It's taken a lot of time but I'm in no=20 hurry. I think features like this would make a great 2.2 milestone altho= ugh=20 the Jython developers have disagreed with me. The main vision is a new user goes to the jython web page, clicks a link = and=20 launches the Jydle jython IDE. I've been working slowly on the IDE part: http://mwp.freezope.org/snapshot2.jpg if you an anyone else is truely passionate about putting a bit more steam= into=20 jython, then you can volunteer to help me put together a prototype of Jyd= le=20 and Jython 2.2a bundled together into a web start application. I need h= elp=20 moping up bugs in the IDE and figuring out how to make a bundled web star= t=20 app. If anyone is interested contact me off-list and we can discuss it. -Michel |
