I have installed Jython 2.5.4rc1 on my Mac. It seems to work fine, except of one weird error: When I start Jython by specifying the full pathname, i.e. in my case ~/jy/jython (where jy is a symbolic link to ~/jython2.5.4rc1) everything works normal. However, I have also set another symbolic link in my ~/bin directory, like this: ln -s ~/jy/jython ~/bin/jython since I have bin in my PATH, but not jy. When I now invoke Jython via this link, I get: expr: syntax error Jython 2.5.4rc1 (2.5:723492dbab02, Feb 8 2013, 09:50:55) [Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM ("Apple Computer, Inc.")] on java1.5.0_07 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> Thus, I again get the Jython prompt, but in addition, I get before a "syntax error", which I do NOT when I run Jython by typing ~/jy/jython directly. It looks to me as if Jython would then try to run some initialization file, which contains something syntactically invalid. However, I don't have any *py files in my bin directory. Any idea where this syntax error comes from? -- Ronald Fischer <ro...@em...> + If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, + and the bus is interrupted and the interrupt's not caught, + then the socket packet pocket has an error to report. + (cited after Peter van der Linden) |
