Not sure I completely understand what kind of issues you are having, but if 
you are just trying to sort PyObjects then perhaps you could use a PyList.  
Just add them to the list and sort: 
http://web.mit.edu/jython/jythonRelease_2_2alpha1/Doc/javadoc/org/python/core/P
yList.html.  If you want to manipulate the objects in midst of sorting, this 
will also allow you to iterate through the list of objects and manipulate them 
accordingly.

Not quite sure if this is what you are looking for, but I hope it helps.
