I guess I still don't understand why it is not a good enough answer to tell JVM 1.2 and 1.3 users or J2ME users to stick with Jython 2.1. It seems to me that requiring at least 1.4 for the latest Jython release will greatly simplify testing and thus increase reliability for those users. --Paul Fernhout Brian Schlining wrote: >> And the changes to java from 1.2 >> to 1.3 where so minor I think staying at 1.2 even if the greater >> coverage is only theoretical, is still the right place to go. >> >> What do you think of proposal I made in the same email?: >> >> Jython 2.1 : Java 1.1 >> Jython 2.2 + 2.3 : Java 1.2 >> Jython 2.4 : Java 1.4 >> Jython 2.5 : Java 5 >> > > I haven't written any Java for cell phone, but for the J2ME stuff I have > done the code is roughly at the Java 1.3 level.
