I've discovered "the hard way" that JVM-Bridge is unstable under a modern kernel-level threading library. Fortunately, this is a known problem, one of my own C++ programs is unstable in a similar way too, so i knew about the "libmap.conf" trick, and indeed, it works. My JDBC program - "convertor" - keeps failing with mysterious Java errors, like NullPointerException and OutOfMemory, until i add [convertor] libthr.so.2 libc_r.so.6 to /etc/libmap.conf (this is on FreeBSD). Then everything runs smooth. I suspect the same problem might arise under NPTL.
