Currently, RAW thumbnails are not autorotated. Could that be added based on the RAW orientation information? I know exiftool can read it, not sure if dcraw is returning any orientation info.

When using F2, the RAW only provides a histogram. Any way to mimic the information seen in other image types (JPG) ifor RAW display?

Any news regarding this request? It's still urgent!

JPEGView has no real RAW support. The only thing JPEGView is showing from a RAW file is the embedded JPEG image. If this embedded JPEG contains valid EXIF information, including rotation, it will be interpreted and applied as for normal JPEGs.
There are no plans for RAW support going bejond these embedded JPEGs.

Сertainly I'm not talking about real RAW support (i.e. decoding RAW data). I mean autorotate embedded JPEGs. Unfortunately, JPEGView doesn't rotate them, while they do contain valid EXIF information. Moreover, I extracted embedded JPEG from Canon CR2 file (by using DCRAW -e command), and JPEGView is showing such separate JPEG correctly.
Some other utilities (e.g. IrfanView) autorotate embedded JPEGs without problems. May I hope JPEGView will do the same?

Unfortunately, I do not have a sample RAW with autorotate EXIF info. I have RAWs with EXIF and there the EXIF information displays correctly. I tried to fake the auto-rotate with the debugger and could not reproduce your issue - the RAW image rotated correctly when faking the EXIF autorotate data.
Thus please provide me an example file of such a failing RAW so that I can investigate the issue.

      Hi David,

Thanks a lot! JPEGView became much comfortable for all serious photographers now!

Sorry to bother you again, but some problem appeared. Unfortunately, JPEGView (64-bit version too) cannot read quite large JPG files - it gives an error (insufficient memory). I tried to open such files using some other programs (IrfanView, FastPictureViewer, ACDSee), and they all open them OK. Could you fix such annoying issue?

You can download a sample of huge JPG here (warning: it's about 214MB!):

      Hi David,

I found some RAW files which are still not rotated properly by JPEGView.
You can download one of such files here:
      https://www.sendspace.com/file/n0cwe2
(Other viewers show this file OK.)

David, did you receive my last message regarding impossibility to view large files because of "not enough memory"?

      Best regards,
      Dmitry Yerokhin
