Hi Marco Proper toe pistons from an organ supply company WILL cost you an arm and a leg. You may be able to pick up some used toe studs on eBay, for example - or even from an organ builder. But the probability is that these will have contacts similar to the old Model-T Ford starter switch - which are not ideal for MIDI operations (they send multiple on/off messages), so you will need to consider replacing the contacts with reed switches and magnets, which may or may not be easy depending on the design of the toe stud. Another possibility is to make your own toe studs. I am e-mailing you some pictures of some that I made for a friend; these incorporate micro-switches, and might give you some ideas. I was fortunate to be given a number of used toe studs which I was able to modify for my own use, otherwise, I would probably have gone for switches like these: http://www.rapidonline.com/Electronic-Components/Foot-switches-79208 As regards LED's, I have never encountered illuminated THUMB pistons in the classical organ world, let alone illuminated TOE pistons, so I leave it to the Theatre Organ folk to enlighten you on this subject! Happy hunting!
