Roy, I think that must may be the great concern with the Park Service and U.S. Forest Service. I think they are afraid that people would go “hog wild” and commit ecological mayhem on the environment so they ban all kinds of activity such as harvesting by non-federal personnel. Too bad, because I think that does more harm than good in the long term. The forests would re-forest themselves within 30 years if they cleaned them up. Not doing so means that it will take decades for the nature-felled trees to decompose and at least three more for the trees to reforest the area.
