Hi, Geert, This PROVES *&%^$#@!)T%$ " is a naughty word... It's turned into a link. Just for a giggle I clicked it and it said this server couldn't understand the request.... Hardly surprising really! Have fun, Roy. --- On Thu, 30/9/10, orgel jeux <jeu...@gm...> wrote: From: orgel jeux <jeu...@gm...> Subject: Re: [jOrgan-user] Thoughts on creating Soundfonts from Samples To: jor...@li... Date: Thursday, 30 September, 2010, 7:53 Hi Panos, You made quite a long statement last time about nearly all aspects of the VPO sound quality. I guess, it took more than 1 bottle of that favourite wine of yours..... Referring to Roy's reply, I think it's a good idea to use the word " *&%^$#@!)T%$ " in future to avoid penalties. I was thinking, that in order to reproduce a big organ taking into account everything you said about long per note samples, we will need a really powerful PC with 64 bits OS and say 12 Gbits memory or so. But of course, in order to be able to play the damned *&%^$#@!)T%$ thing, we have that already of course........ Another thought: did you already realize how much time it will cost you first to take these samples, and later to carefully polish them in order to make a VPO from them?? Sometimes people spend a year or so on that. Greetings, Geert 2010/9/24 Panos Ghekas <pan...@ya...> Oooops ! Did I say *&%^$#@!)T%$# Roy ? I did? My god, I'm ready for the penalty.... How could I...... the name of our detested enemy..... Date: Friday, 24 September, 2010, 12:51 Hi Roy ! You didn't pay attention I'm affraid With the right position of the mics and isolation of the noise source. (and some minor noise reduction if needed after) Have you tried some free Hauptwerk sets? For example let's say Oosterwijwerd one 49manual/p Muller Dutch organ. Has everything I said in my post and as a bonus the church clock, click mechanism ect. Has stop for every effect. If you tyrn off the blower noise sample and play just one note you cannot here a thing from the blower. This is also prepared from Sygsoft for the tracker sounds of the keyboard. If one doesn't like to hear them he/she turns them of. So, my friend, with today's technology everything (almost...anyway) is possible. Get this organ and play a little, you 're gonna get much enjoyment from the simplicity of it and how accurate elements the developers have prepared for us to enjoy and study. Ημερομηνία: Παρασκευή, 24 Σεπτέμβριος 2010, 10:59 Hi, Panos, Very interesting post though, as I've said before, I'm not a pipe man myself, so can't comment on most of the details. There is one technical point which I believe has been mentioned here before: "If he/she do not like them, can switch them off with the button I must prepare for this. The same as for the draw stop effects, blower noises ect." If blower noise is sampled with the individual notes, another copy of it will be played for every note you play, multiplied by the number of ranks in use. The real organ has only one blower noise, the resulting VTPO could have dozens! Also, I don't see how the user can switch them off if they are part of the original samples??? ...Just armchair theorising as usual!
