If you don't tell me I can't fix them :) I think one of >your gripes was that the tab key no longer inserts tab in the search promp= t- >I'll probably fix this for this for JOE 3.5. Yes, that was one of the things I had trouble with, the other being localisation in general. Since I last mailed about on this subject my operating system has gotten somehow proper I18N support with wchar_t and all the functions, but setlocale() "only" scans whether the LC_* variables (LC_CTYPE and LC_ALL/LANG - the others aren't used)=20 contains the string utf8 or utf-8 and sets the locale to either 'C' or 'en_US.UTF-8'. I must admit the idea comes from joe 3.1 ;) What about a 'stripped-down' version of the charset code for the people who only have a legacy locale (C is ASCII or latin1 in most cases; here it's still ASCII for 3-4 years) and utf-8, as the rest of the system doesn't support KOI-8 or so anyway? I have seen I'm not the only person who doesn't like syntax highlighting; I think packagers should still enable it but you might want to add an option to disable it. I just turned it off in jupprc ;) Other than that, I'm still relatively happy (see my signature), using joe 2.8 under DOS/Win and my (slightly modified) 3.1 under Unices (and Interix). Especially because it's small, has low dependencies and still wordstar-like key combinations and a powerful search & replace mode. And I like the ability to insert any character by its code / unicode point. For DOS, it annoys a little that you cannot compile in jupprc (in my case) into the binary so it's entirely stand-alone (and for the Win32 case I'll be looking into making something which works without additional DLLs but that's Cygwin's fault). bye, //mirabile --=20 > emacs als auch vi zum Kotzen finde (joe rules) und pine f=FCr den einzig > bedienbaren textmode-mailclient halte (und ich hab sie alle ausprobiert).= ;) Hallooooo, ich bin der Holger ("Hallo Holger!"), und ich bin ebenfalls =2E.. pine-User, und das auch noch gewohnheitsm=E4=DFig ("Oooooooohhh").
