Hi, So far, tool mode has only been used for the jdp debugger. It would probably make sense to generalize it to support other 'tool' uses of RVM classes as you suggested. For the particular piece of code you were looking at, jdp never needs the opt method summaries to be created, so they are not created. I suspect it would work to compute them unconditionally any time the opt compiler was included in the build. I don't think there was any fundamental reason to exclude them when building for tool. --dave |
