figured it out: context is "abc", url is http://localhost/abc/xyz/foo, so url-pattern of <url-pattern>/xyz/foo</url-pattern> fixed it. new question though: is there a way to specify an arbitrary path between the context and servlet, so I could have a path like http://localhost/abc/foo http://localhost/abc/xyz/foo http://localhost/abc/def/xyz/foo I tried <url-pattern>/*/foo</url-pattern> but I got the 404 again. -----Original Message----- From: JEFF EMMINGER [mailto:jem...@th...] Sent: Monday, 28 Jun, 2004 4:14 PM To: 'jet...@li...' Subject: [Jetty-support] web.xml help hi all, I've added a servlet in web.xml like so: <web-app> <servlet> <servlet-name>foo</servlet-name> <servlet-class>some.package.FooServlet</servlet-class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>foo</servlet-name> <url-pattern>foo</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> </web-app> I keep getting 404 not found when posting to http://localhost/some/dir/foo <http://localhost/some/dir/foo> I've also tried the url-pattern like so: <url-pattern>/foo</url-pattern> <url-pattern>*/foo</url-pattern> <url-pattern>/*/foo</url-pattern> of course restarting jetty for each change...what am I doing wrong? thanks, jeff CONFIDENTIAL NOTICE: This email including any attachments, contains confidential information belonging to the sender.
