Shyamal> I'm doing exactly the testing you are thinking about Hi Vincent/Paul, I finished testing on 23.4.1 Debian GNU/Linux, 24.2.1 OS X 10.6.8 (Mac Ports) and also 24.3.1 on OS X 10.8.3 (MacPorts). What is really nice is that the code seems to work with the *Emacs bundled CEDET* on all three versions! Thanks a bunch Vincent! I also reviewed the Emacs sources, and I am very confident that Vincent's patches don't introduce a compatibility issue. The build.el thing was a bug I introduced (sorry), and the other fixes align perfectly with both the Emacs and CEDET 1.1 libraries. I've committed Vincent's patch to trunk (r279, r280). If people can pull the latest trunk and start using it with 23.4 or later *without* the external CEDET and file any success or bug reports we could probably think about doing a release now. I have no idea how many people use JDEE anymore, but I certainly depend on it :-) I'll update the installation docs to not recommend using an external CEDET after a week or two (unless I find any major issues or hear about them). Cheers! Shyamal |
