I have a question on the differences in the binary distributions that are on the JBoss site for download. The core jar files that come from the JBOSS 2.1, Tomcat, and Jetty binary distributions all have different date/time stamps. Where they built from the same source using a singular build process. I would expect that the distributions should all have the same date/time stamp for a given release for the core JAR files that compose JBOSS. Also, the directory structure for the ZIP files seems to be radically different. Shouldn't the directory structure be similar independent of the fact that JBOSS is being used alone or integrated with Tomcat or Jetty. Basically I just want to make sure that if I download JBoss 2.1 bundled with Tomcat that I'm getting the real 2.1 build and not some beta. Here are the files in the http://www.jboss.org/bin directory. Three of the files are described as 2.1 builds of JBoss, but only one file seems to be built off of 2.1 jBoss-2.0_FINAL.zip 09-Feb-2001 04:05 4.2M jboss-2.1.zip 09-Mar-2001 16:59 4.0M jboss-tomcat-2.1-bet..> 27-Feb-2001 04:05 8.2M Looks like an outdated beta jboss_jetty.zip 29-Jan-2001 09:10 7.0M Looks older than 2.0 final jboss_tomcat.zip 25-Jan-2001 18:14 8.3M Looks older than 2.0 final The web site creates the impresession that the Jetty and Tomcat bundles are the same as the main 2.1 download and that does not seem to jive with the files that are actually posted on the site Dave Bolt There is always plenty of bandwidth, just none for you. |
