I have some client application that use the JacOrb CORBA implementation embedded in JBoss. When I use the Web JMX console to list the JNDIView I found in the java: Namespace entries for JBossCorbaORB as well as JbossCorbaNaming and JBossCorbaPOA. I also found some code in the JBoss server class org.jboss.iiop. CorbaNamingService, in the startService() method, code to lookup the ORB. ctx = new InitialContext(); orb = (ORB)ctx.lookup("java:/" + CorbaORBService.ORB_NAME); where CorbaORBService.ORB_NAME = "JBossCorbaORB" When I execute the same code in my client ctx = new InitialContext(); orb = (ORB)ctx.lookup("java:/JBossCorbaORB"); I get a javax.naming.NameNotFoundException thrown at my face. Is it not possible to lookup the JacOrb ORB in the context of a client java program running outside of the server?
