[Ipmitool-devel] SEL clear and set Ip commands fail on Intel machines

Greetings,

I have Intel machines(XAL/PAL) and I am using
ipmitool-1.8.9 for monitoring and management. I
noticed the following problems while using
ipmitool-1.8.9 with these Intel machines:

1. Unable to clear SEL repository:

The command fails with an error message "Unable to
clear SEL: Reservation cancelled or invalid".

If I bypass the SEL reservation step in ipmitool code,
I am able to clear off the SEL repository. Why does
SEL reservation fails? Is this ok to bypass SEL
reservation step?

LOG:
./ipmitool -I lanp -H  10.0.200.105 -U admin -P admin
-C 3 -o intelplus sel clear
Unable to clear SEL: Reservation cancelled or invalid


2. Set IP Address over Lan Interface fails

When I try to set IP address over lanplus interface,
though the ipmitool reports command failed, it
actually sets the IP address.

Pls. refer to the LOG below.

Though the BMC IP address has changed through the
command issued, why does ipmitool try to receive
response on same Lan connection, it will
never receive response from the old IP address?

LOG:
