I don't think there's a technical reason that a client (ipmtool) couldn't maintain more than one SOL connection, but there are probably easier ways to do the same thing. The screen command, for example, might solve your problem. From the man page: Screen is a full-screen window manager that multiplexes a physical ter- minal between several processes (typically interactive shells).
