Hey, There seems to be a problem with setting power policy to 'always-off'. Both 'previous' and 'always-on' seem to work, as does setting 'always-off' with 'raw' commands. [root@rack-westville jgoebel]# ipmitool -V ipmitool version 1.5.9 [root@rack-westville jgoebel]# ipmitool -I open chassis policy always-on Set chassis power restore policy to always-on [root@rack-westville jgoebel]# ipmitool -I open chassis status| grep Policy Power Restore Policy : always-on [root@rack-westville jgoebel]# ipmitool -I open chassis policy always-off [root@rack-westville jgoebel]# ipmitool -I open chassis status | grep Policy Power Restore Policy : always-on [root@rack-westville jgoebel]# ipmitool -v -I open raw 0x0 0x6 0x00 00 RAW REQ (netfn=0x0 cmd=0x6 data_len=1) RAW RSP (1 bytes) 07 [root@rack-westville jgoebel]# ipmitool -I open chassis status | grep Policy Power Restore Policy : always-off I wanted to track down the problem and send a patch, but I just got smacked with a load of work. I thought you'd want to know about this before releasing the next version. Note that the 'Set chassis power restore policy to ...' never appears for 'always-off'. I believe the 'policy' never arrives to the function ipmi_chassis_power_policy in ipmi_chassis.c. In 1.6.0pre3 there doesn't appear to be code to address this problem. Thanks, John ===== _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Win 1 of 4,000 free domain names from Yahoo! Enter now. http://promotions.yahoo.com/goldrush |
