I totally agree with that. I first used horde/imp and then squirrelmail. Squirrelmail was difficult to maintain as the different plugins and their dependencies were confusing to say the least. I like Ilohamail because it provides a very good set of features and is fast. Except for a few smaller things (like the addition for birthdays I wrote about some time ago) I don't need new features.
