But if I guess about the detail you should have included, the messages were deleted from 'INBOX' and you're running IlohaMail in POP3 mode. If that be the case, this is likely why: 1. IlohaMail starts a POP3 session, and produces a produces a message list in the clients browser. IlohaMail now knows the Message ID of each that it has sent to the client. (Meanwhile back at the ranch, new messages come in to the clients mailbox on the server. The server may now have a different Message ID for each of the messages queried in the previous POP3 session.) 2. User chooses to delete a message from his 'INBOX'. IlohaMail starts a new POP3 session and deletes the message using the Message ID it cached from the previous session, which results in the wrong message being deleted. NOTE: This same scenerio can result in the wrong message being displayed when the user reads one. This has been my experience with v0.8.13. Had IlohaMail employed the POP3 UIDL command (unique identifiers that don't change with sessions) this issue would be null and void. SOLUTION: Rewrite IlohaMail to employ UIDL command or switch to IMAP mode...guess which is easier! > -- > Salam, -- ************************************** * Scott Neal * * University of Southern Mississippi * * Signal Research Center * * Email: Sco...@bo... * * Phone: 601-268-2681 ext. 23 * ************************************** It's not an optical illusion, it just looks like one! ************************************** |
