Question About Constructing Pattern Strings From API Results

Hi,

I have been attempting to construct a pattern string from the results of
a call to:

int32_t nItems = uset_getItem(pSet, nIndex, &nChar32Bgn, &nChar32End,
ucCodePoints, nSizeCodePoints, &ecode);

When the number of items returned is >= 2 it isn't clear what the
meaning of the results are.  Is it a list of code points?  Can it be
another pattern string?  How do you interpret the results to format it
into a valid pattern?
