Hi there, what I am trying to achieve is to connect to a file-based HSQL database, but also automatically start serving it via TCP/IP in server mode once it has been opened (like the "H2 automatic mixed mode"). I would like to avoid to programmatically start a server, as the application that uses HSQLDB runs on top of multiple databases and just uses an embedded HSQLDB for demo setups, so I would like to avoid introducing a code-level dependency. My most recent attempt is connecting with: jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://<host>:<port>/<alias>;remote_open=true;filepath=hsqldb:file:<path> Unfortunately, this fails with a ConnectException. The StackOverflow post at [1] seems to suggest that what I am trying to achieve is not possible. Right or wrong? ;-) Thanks, Thilo [1] http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5082366/hsqldb-equivalent-of-h2-automatic-mixed-mode |
