Perhaps I'll make smart-configure even smarter by detecting and following the symbolic link. Obviously, giving the absolute path is fine. Alternatively, if you did a normal make install on poly, I expect it'd put it in /usr/local/bin, which would likely be in your path anyway, and you wouldn't need the symbolic link in your ~/bin.
