Lada, I have applied your patch and pushed it to the SF.net and my
Github repositories.  The changes applied cleanly to the 3.0 branch and
will appear in tomorrow's daily source snaphot:

Please look things over in case some newer source files aren't missed by
the Android build system.

As it appears the Android build system adds little overhead I decided
that carrying it in parallel is fine.  You may want to go through the
Android config.h and clean it up to just those variables needed when
building on Android as there are a bunch of unrelated things in there
from the GNU Autotools build system.
