But the c++, python and perl, php all require swig and I believe that there are some problems with them. According to Nate the preferred approach is rigctld. I ran into some trouble trying to use one of the more "advanced" functions with the Perl binding a few years ago and got stuck trying to figure out how to pass a required parameter. I've not looked at things since and the bindings input file to Swig is largely unchanged, as I recall. It's quite possible that the only thing that is broken is me! That said, they are not documented at all for the various languages. However, if someone is really interested and submits some documentation for a given language, I'll see to it that the submission is applied to the tree and included in the source distribution. > I believe that many back ends have not implemented the scanning. I had to add it to the ICom 746 Pro a few years ago. I wonder if It is not implemented in the back end. Unfortunately I don't have any way to test it. That is true, most of the backends only support the minimal functionality needed by most programs. > What kind of error message does rigctl give you when you get dcd or try to scan? You may have to start rigctl with -vvvvv for complete trouble shooting. That will help us a lot. 73, de Nate >> -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds.
