Hi, I fairly new to the list and am writing a backend for my Icom 7200. I've tried downloading a fresh install using svn but am running into problems generating the build files. 1) SVN seems to work ok and I've downloaded a fresh copy of the source tree (version 2675). 2) I've not edited the file autogen.sh but type 'sh ./autogen.sh --disable-static --prefix=/usr/local CFLAGS="-g -O0"'. This produces a couple of errors at the start; autom4te: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 1 aclocal: autom4te failed with exit status: 1 libtoolize: You should add the contents of `macros/argz.m4' to `aclocal.m4'. libtoolize: You should add the contents of `macros/ltoptions.m4' to `aclocal.m4'. libtoolize: You should add the contents of `macros/ltsugar.m4' to `aclocal.m4'. libtoolize: You should add the contents of `macros/ltversion.m4' to `aclocal.m4'. libtoolize: You should add the contents of `macros/lt~obsolete.m4' to `aclocal.m4'. But the script appears to complete normally. However, 'make' stops almost immediately with a warning; libtool: You should recreate aclocal.m4 with macros from libtool 2.2.4 Debian-2.2.4-0ubuntu4 The default version of libtool on Ubuntu 8.10 is indeed 2.2.4, not 1.5 as required. Does anyone have an idea on how I can either modify the scripts (preferable approach) or install an older version of libtool on Ubuntu. I've tried 'autoupdate' and 'autoreconf' but neither seem to help. As you can see... build systems are a bit of a mystery to me... Any and all help greatly appreciated. - Jim |
