Use nautilus -- with the thumbnail gxsm .nc thumbnail feature described before!! - to browse the data (.nc) files.
Select a .nc file (or any by GXSM import-supported file-type) and drag it into the GXSM main window (avoid the menubar and entrty fields as dropping area), then the file will be opened into a new (free) channel (if available).
...or just drop it on a existing scan window/channel and it will be opened there and replaces the data in there (without prompt, so make sure it was saved before!).
...or drop it on one of the channels of the channelselector:-)
