I did some more testing and I did start having problems with PAN. After several hours of use I was losing the connection. Then I noticed my kernel was build for 200MHZ. Previously I saw problems with 200MHZ but this is not conclusive. I tried my access point with my iPAQ H1945 and it has been constantly connected for the past two days. So much for interference. One thing I will try on the next failure is l2ping. This may help identifier the layer at which things fail.
