Zach's ideas seem good. I'm working on an application that needs audio input only and currently plan to get that through an I2C ADC (don't need anything better than 20kps at 8 bits so the I2C at 400khz is overkill - not a *lot* of headroom, but enough. The app involves some pedestrian DSP of an audio stream looking for "data" in a lot of noise... Not strenuous for the PXA - at least at 400mhz. I *do* like the idea of bringing out the I2S interface, though! And let me "second" the notion of keeping the JTAG accessible. Absolutely essential for any complex debugging. Putting it onto a separate connector would make it easier for me anyway. I don't actually *have* my unit yet - demand is high and I'm backordered on my waysmall - probably won't get here before I go on vacation, so I only know physical issues from memory after looking at Zach's unit last week - and he didn't let me touch it... (Actually I didn't ask - but he looked to be the jealous type...) Since I've been doing some Zaurus development lately (mostly apps but some kernel stuff) I'm feeling comfortable with the "tight fit" inside the Stix, but compared to most of the uPs I've used lately, this is largess. Looking forward to finding more projects for this gadget. -Gary |
