Hi George, A little busy to dig in to the e-puck doco, but something I notice is that you're specifying ttyS*. I know for version 3+ of the kernel that I can only access the Overo uarts via /dev/ttyON, where N is a number between 0 & 2. Perhaps try one of those? Note: tty02 is the USB debug port on expansion boards, but still might be applicable to you. Best of luck.
