Hello Mailing List :) We are using the SMSC USB2640 on one of our designs. We are using a Gumstix Overo Water Com on this design as well. We are using Android with the 2.6.36 Linux Kernel (All from gumdroid). During the Linux kernel boot the usb system seems to connect and find the hub, but then the hub resets and then the Linux kernel finds the hub again, and then it resets, and so on and so on. Below you will find the Linux boot messages. >From probing different signals with a CRO, we have seen that the IC seems to be active for about 320ms. This is the time we can see XTAL1 oscillating. We can see power for port 2 try to go high for 5uS and then the IC seems to reset itself. There are no devices plugged into the hub. I am unable to explain this behaviour. Have you seen this problem in the past or are you able to offer any advice to fix this problem? I am unsure if it is hardware or software at this stage. I did try and solder a usb cable to our PCB and 'plug' the USB hub into a Windows PC, and it seemed like the same problem was happening. ---- Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel.
