I finally have a little time to play so I decided to build the overo-2011.03 branch following Neil's instructions. Here they are, slightly edited by me: I've added a new branch to gumstix-oe. Here's how you can build off of it. $ cd ~/overo-oe $ mv tmp old-tmp $ cd org.openembedded.dev $ git pull $ git checkout -b overo-2011.03 origin/overo-2011.03 I want to add that suppose you already have an active branch checked out and you made changes to a recipe. Checking out a new branch with the git checkout shown above will fail, because you have uncommitted changes. What do you do? Git's error message helpfully suggested either stashing or committing the changes. I didn't want to commit, so I Googled on stashing and learned how to stash changes: $ git stash save [git output here about the stash results] Now I can do my checkout: $ git checkout -b overo-2011.03 origin/overo-2011.03 I hope this helps someone! I also hope my omap3-console-image bitbake build works, it is in progress now. Bob Cochran |
