Hi Akshay, I while ago I experimented with the rfkill kernel module, to try to accomplish exactly what you are trying to do. You can enable rfkill by using menuconfig, then rebuilding your kernel. (As always if you only rebuild your kernel, then make sure you also reinstall the modules when you install the new kernel.) Rfkill appeared to install properly, and all of the expected devices and interfaces were created (/dev/rfkill and sysfs). Sending the off/on commands to the rfkill interfaces did not cause any errors, but also had absolutely no effect on the ability of the WiFi module to emit RF. In my tests, I connected to a wireless network, then issued the rfkill off command, and afterward was still able to access the internet via WiFi. Perhaps a real Linux kernel hacker, or someone familiar with the libertas and rfkill drivers can comment on this? It would be extremely useful to have rfkill working, particularly if you want to use the Gumstix Overo in environments where RF transmissions are forbidden (e.g. some underground mine sites, and so on).
