Yes I've run those programs. ts_print, ts_print_raw, etc are all installed. On any typical phone I've used (iPhone, Droid etc), merely resting my finger on the screen results in a touch. On the 4.3" LCD with the chestnut kit you definitely have to "apply pressure" with your finger to get a result from ts_print or ts_print_raw. Maybe I'm just spoiled by capacitive screens? ________________________________ From: Chris Dollar <chr...@gm...> To: General mailing list for gumstix users. <gum...@li...> Sent: Wed, January 12, 2011 4:29:54 PM Subject: Re: [Gumstix-users] Alternative LCDs & touchscreens On Wed, Jan 12, 2011 at 10:04 AM, Darren <imp...@ya...> wrote: I'm finding the amount of >pressure required to get the chestnut's screen to respond to be annoying Have you tried using any of the ts_* programs to see what they give you? I remember when I was troubleshooting touchscreen and driver operation I would use ts_print (or maybe it was ts_print_raw?), which would basically report the X:Y position and Z pressure of a touch event. With that you might be able to see if what you would consider reasonable touch pressure is registering with the driver. If you don't have ts_print on your gumstix I think it comes in the tslib-tests package. |
