I'd like to hook up 2 or 3 web cameras to a Verdex Pro XM4, and do some very lightweight processing on them, mainly just querying a small number of pixels to see if they exceed a threshold. Ideally I would get low resolution at a high framerate (320x240 or even 160x120 at 30 fps or even better 60fps). Is the gumstix at all suitable for this? Can anyone recommend cameras they've used with gumstix that will work easily? I've found some discussion when searching this list but not a lot of positive results with specific model numbers, achieved framerates or cpu overhead. Also I'm not clear from what I've read elsewhere, but would any camera Linux supports elsewhere would be supported by gumstix using the same kernel version? Thank you, Lucas |
