That being said > I’m really surprised you ran into all the issues you did under #3. For anybody that's interested, I created a Blank-2G image, formatted with 2 partitions. The first partition is 20 cylinders, which is 164,505,600 bytes, formatted as FAT. The second partition is 220 cylinders, which is 1,645,056,000 bytes, formatted as EXT3. I made the first partition a bit bigger than the standard 32 Mb so it can be used a convenient file transfer location from a windows machine. This image is also a bit smaller than 2Gb, since there is some variability in the size of the SD cards out there. The total size of the image is 220 cylinders, which is about 1.8 Mb, which should fit on all 2Gb or larger cards. The image filesize is 1.7 MB. <http://www.davehylands.com/gumstix-wiki/sd-images/Blank-2G.img.gz> You can use dd to copy this to the sd card from linux. If somebody knows of a dd utility for windows, I'd love to get a link. -- Dave Hylands Shuswap, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |
