Thank you Hypo for your reply, executable file means final binary file...it didnt work means its gave me an error like sh:command not found I checked the path and everything but dindt work..yeah i used file command too...its giving me as 32 bit ARM ELF like that..but its not working...yeah version is important but my gumstix board giving me its version as R318M i didnt understand it properly..so i tried for 318 version but while doing bit bake i am getting an error like file didnt find in the particular path so i tried to place that file manually in the particular path by downloading it, but i could not find that file. So finally i did for latest version and placed the binary file. And sorry for asking this question...Is build and OE are different? I didnot understand that thing....All i did was in my UBUNTU machine 9.04 i built an environment using the 1st link later i tried to install arm-linux-gcc... If i did anything worng please let me know or else can you gguys give me the correct steps to follow Thank you, Sravani. hypo wrote: > > hi Sravani, > > firstly, i'm not a bitbake / OE expert, but while you wait for the experts > jump in and help you, let me help you / the experts understand a few > issues. > > are you trying to build your program using bitbake (OE) or buildroot? as i > understand, these are different systems using different libraries and > programs built for one, may not work on the other. > > > sravani wrote: >> >> Later i got arm-linux-gcc cross compiler...then i compiled my helloworld >> progm and placed .exe file on my gumstix board but it didnt work.. >> > > I'm a little confused by your statement above looks like you were able to > get buildroot going. but how did you get a ".exe"? buildroot executables > do not have a windows ".exe" extension. did you simply mean the final > executable binary? > > Also what does "it didn't work" mean? were there any error messages when > you tried to execute the file on the gumstix?
