Hi, I am a student at University of Pennsylvania. We ordered a couple of Overo Fire boards with Summit expansion boards. I looked at the GPS receiver that you mentioned. I am new to the World of GPS and don't know what to look for while selecting a receiver. Also, is there a way to know whether I will be able to use a particular receiver with the the Gumstix as in terms of weather I will be able to load the drivers for it. Any help will be useful. Also, completely off the topic but there is a GPSD connection on the Summit board. Is it possible to use the GPS( not a USB one) and use the GPSD connection on the board? Thank You Sanket Doshi sd...@se... gnmckinney wrote: > > > Radio Engineer wrote: >> >> Hello, >> I am planning to purchase an Overo motherboard with the Summit expansion >> board. >> Is there a GPS board that is compatible with the Overo? >> Thank you. >> Marcus >> > > As others will tell you the Overo Earth with Summit board does not have > any other Gumstix boards that will snap on to the combo. > > I am using a 2.0 Hub connected through the USB-OTG port (currently wired > as a host port) on the Summit board and have a USB GPS receiver connected > to the USB HUB. > > Unless you plan to use both the host USB port and the USB OTG port you > will need to connect a 2.0 hub not only to allow multiple USB devices to > be connected, IE: keyboard, mouse and USB Ethernet adapter but also to > supply external power as the Summit board can only supply about 100-ma > total to the USB port and the USB port is HS only.
