Do you umount it first? The OS may be caching blocks from the card and not know it's been removed. sudo umount <mount path> Then when you reinsert the card you may need to mount it: sudo mount /dev/<mmc device> <mount path> Sorry, I'm at work so I can't find the paths for you easily. With the card in, boot the COM and just type: mount it will list the devices and mount paths for use in the above commands. Just find the one that corresponds to the MMC card. NOTE: It's very important that you umount the card if you write to it so that written data in the cache get's flushed to the card.
